Rassure Success Stories Moment – episode 6

Going from 0.5X to 7X: what happens when a gap opens?

Recently, we have been highlighting how Rassure’s RAXTM audit engine has been outperforming legacy audit providers. But are there occasions when RAX under-performs competitors? The answer is Yes! During a trial earlier this year, Rassure noticed that in a small category, related to ticket refund form of payment, RAX underperformed compared to the existing audit result.

Through some thorough analyses, Rassure realized that our waiver application accidentally removed some cases. For example, a “flight schedule change” to a ticketed booking (in PNR), this should not permit an incorrect FOP refund – where fraud could happen.

While trying to solve this issue and design a new solution, there were many challenges to overcome like for e.g when a ticket refund was a result of multiple ticket issuances and exchanges, to ensure the refund goes back correctly to the original form(s) of payment, our system needs to trace multiple transactions simultaneously.

But, at Rassure we like challenges and within a short period of time, Rassure implemented a new solution even better than we had before as RAX is re-calibrated to recognise the new patterns and to review every ticket against this new learning. Not surprisingly, as is often the case with the RAXTM learning loop, many other violations of the same kind, previously missed by legacy auditors, are identified. In this instance, RAX went on to find 7X more!

In every system update, the new solution is rolled out to all Rassure’s airline clients and as from that moment on, it performs consistently for our clients for every ticket transaction. At Rassure we turn problems into solutions and all reasons are good reasons to improve our tool and the audit work we do for our clients.
